Delete your Brainfence account

Deleting your account permanently deletes everything in it. It can't be undone.

In the app

Android: tap Settings in the bar at the bottom, then Delete account…, and confirm.
Windows: open Settings, then under Account & sync choose Delete account…, and confirm.
Mac: open Settings, then under Account choose Delete Account…, and confirm.

You need to be online. Your account is deleted straight away, the app signs out and clears its data on that device, and your other devices stop syncing.

Without the app

Email support@brainfence.online from the email address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my Brainfence account". We'll delete it within 7 days and reply to confirm. If you write from another address, we'll ask you to confirm from the account's address first.

What's deleted

Everything stored with your account:

your email address and password
tasks, routines and steps, shopping lists, and task completions, including their proof (such as the location a GPS task was completed at)
blocking rules, and the apps and websites in them
places you chose for tasks
journal entries, notes, contemplations, and reports and their answers
setup guide progress

It's removed from our database immediately. Copies in our providers' backups are gone when those backups expire, within 30 days. Records of emails we sent you, such as the sign-up confirmation, may stay in our email provider's logs for up to 30 days. We don't keep anything else.

Data that only ever lived on your devices, such as your home location and debug logs, is removed when the app clears its data or is uninstalled.
